LaCie manufactures and sells a wide range of consumer and small business storage products including USB hard drives and other storage devices, networked storage, RAID appliances and optical devices, as well as the Wuala cloud storage service. The deal values LaCie at about $US186 million. Seagate on Wednesday announced it will acquire 65 percent of the outstanding shares of France-based LaCie. Seagate has signed an agreement to acquire LaCie, a move it says will help it expand its consumer storage business while boosting its plans to grow its cloud storage offering. ![]()
